Membership FAQ

Q: How is NRAMembership.org able to offer a $25 yearly membership while others can't?
A: From time to time, the NRA runs special promotions which can only be offered by their Official Recruiters.  The current promotion allows for us to give New Members and Current Members the ability to sign up or renew for the low yearly rate of $25.  We advise everyone to act now because this offer can change at any time!

Q: How do I change my name/address/magazine/online?
A: In order to change your address online, simply email the NRA at membership@nrahq.org with your full name, your old address, your new address, and current NRA id number and we will be happy to make the necessary adjustments.

Q: I paid for my membership and I am still getting bills. What's going on?
A: In order to make all our mailings as cost-effective as possible, we mail in bulk and prepare these mailings in advance. In some cases, your payment and your next bill will "cross" in the mail. If you have already paid for your membership, please disregard any bills you may receive.

Q: Is my Membership tax deductible?
A: Contributions, gifts, or membership dues made or paid to the National Rifle Association of America are not refundable or transferable and are not deductible as charitable contributions for Federal income tax purposes.

Q: What comes with my Membership in the NRA?
A: As a member you will receive:

bullet Your choice of NRA magazines: America's 1st Freedom, American Rifleman or American Hunter
bullet A personalized membership card
bullet An NRA member decal
bullet $10,000 in Hunter's Accident (A,D, & D) insurance

Q: I would like to join the NRA but I don't want to submit my credit card online. What can I do?
A: You have several options:
bullet Go to https://secure.nramembership.org/app.html print the online application, and mail it to us at the address provided.
bullet Email us at mail@nramembership.org and request an application be sent to you.

Q: I want to join but I am concerned about my privacy. Is NRA membership data confidential?
A: NRA Membership data is considered personal and confidential and as such may only be accessed by the NRA and it's agents. Your personal information will not be provided to any “mailing lists.”

Q: What is the mailing address for NRA Headquarters?
A: That address is:
     NRA HQ
     11250 Waples Mill Road
     Fairfax, VA 22030

Q: How can I reduce the amount of mail I receive from the NRA?
A: Simply email the NRA at membership@nrahq.org or dial 800-NRA-3888 and request to be placed on the "Do Not Promote" list. This will significantly reduce the amount of mail you receive without affecting important mailings, magazine service, or your membership renewal.

Q: How long does it take for me to receive my NRA Materials after I reply?
A: From the time you submit your application, it can take up to 4-6 weeks to receive your full membership materials.

Q: I applied for membership online but I haven't heard anything. What's going on?
A: When you submitted your online application, did you receive an email receipt verification? If yes, everything is in order and your membership is in processing. If no, your application was not received and you should reapply.

Q: I would like to become a Life Member of the NRA. Are there any payment plans available?
A: To fit the needs of most members, we offer the Easy Pay Life plan. Under this plan, members make minimum quarterly payments of $25.00 until the full amount of $750.00 is paid. NRA youth programs are still a cornerstone of the NRA, with more than one million youth participating in NRA shooting sports events and affiliated programs with groups such as 4-H, the Boy Scouts of America, the American Legion, U.S. Jaycees and others.

The Eddie Eagle GunSafe® Program teaches elementary school children four important steps to take if they find a gun. These steps are presented by the program's mascot, Eddie Eagle, in an easy-to-remember format consisting of the following simple rules:

If you see a gun:

STOP!
Don't Touch.
Leave the Area.
Tell an Adult.
